How can I download the app?

The Craftsy App for iPad and iPhone can be downloaded directly from the iTunes App Store(sm) or from our apps page. Check out our app here!

What is available on the app?

Classes and supplies can be purchased on the app.  Patterns are only available for purchase on our full site.  Class materials are available for download by tapping on the icon of the piece of paper while viewing the class.  You can also view projects, take notes, and participate in class discussions. 

Where are my classes?

Whether you purchase classes on the app or the website, they will all be available in your account under your Class Library - tap Account along the bottom bar, and then you’ll see Class Library on the left menu. There may be a slight delay in classes syncing across devices, but if you still don't see your classes after a couple of hours, contact our team and we're happy to help!

You'll also want to be sure that you don't have two Craftsy accounts - double check and make sure that the email you log in with is the same on all devices and computers.  If you think you may have two accounts, our Customer Support team can get you going in a flash - we'll just need to know the two email addresses and which one you'd like to use for Craftsy moving forward so we can merge everything together into one place. 

Why are the prices on the app different than the prices on the site?

What can I try if I'm having trouble using or watching classes on the app?

  • Make sure you have the most up to date version of the app. You can download the latest version by visiting the App Store on your device and clicking on the Updates icon towards the bottom.You will then see a list of all apps you have installed that have a newer version available. Find “Craftsy” from this list and click on “Update.”
  • Close the app and restart it.  Double tab the home button on the device to view all of your open apps.  Find Craftsy in this list and drag it to the top of your screen until it disappears. Power off your iPad/iPhone and leave it off for 60 seconds. Turn your device back on, locate the app and open it again.
  • Remove the app and re-download. Go to your home screen and hold your finger on the app icon until it starts to wiggle, then tap the "x" in the corner.  Then go back to the iTunes store to download Craftsy again.
  • Change Vertical or Horizontal Orientation: If you aren't able to switch your class from a vertical view to a horizontal one, check the switch above the volume buttons on the right side of your iPad. Depending on how your iPad is set up, this button when turned on (you will see orange) may lock the orientation and prevent you from moving it into landscape mode. If you see this orange dot, please slide the button up so you no longer see the orange circle.

How can I watch classes on my Apple TV?

As of 10/30/2015, the Craftsy app is now available on the new Apple TV (4th Generation).  You can read more about how to enjoy your Craftsy classes on your Apple TV here.  

How do I use offline mode? 

Offline access allows you to temporarily store lessons from your Craftsy classes on your iPad or iPhone so you can view your lessons during periods without Internet such as a plane ride or road trip.  

While you still have internet, sign into your Craftsy app on your iPad or iPhone. You can then click the "Account Tab," followed by the "Class Library," option. Next to the title of each enrolled class is a circle with a downward-pointing arrow. Tap this to open a view of all the individual lessons in your class that you can save for offline viewing. You can then click the downward arrow on each lesson that you would like to download. Keep in mind, Craftsy video files are very large, so you should only store the lessons you'll want to watch.  Then remove them when you're done watching to make room for more by tapping the trash icon on each downloaded lesson tile.

How do I upload photos?

You temporarily won’t be able to upload photos to your class or upload new projects to our project gallery, but keep an eye out for updates!  This is a feature that we know is important to our members, so rest assured we’re working hard to get this functionality up and running again as soon as possible! If you’d like to share your progress with your instructor In the meantime, we recommend you upload your photos to an image sharing service online and then copy and paste the link to your images in the class discussion.
