Sales Tax on Craftsy Purchases

Tax calculations can be tricky and are based on multiple factors such as location and type of good, which is why you may have seen a different rate applied to a previous order. That's also why we have expert tax consultants tell us which goodies are taxable and drill it down to the county/city/special district level, where applicable, and with the most recent tax law changes.

Physical items sold and shipped to destinations in AL, AZ, CA, CO, FL, CT, IL, IN, NC, OH, PA, TX, UT, CA, WA, GA, MA, MI, MN, NJ, NY, SC, TN, WI, HI, ID, IA, KS, KY, LA, ME, MD, MO, NE, NV, OK, RI, SD, VT, WV, WY and VA are subject to sales tax.The tax rate applied to orders containing physical goods will generally be the combined state and local tax rates for the address where the order is being shipped. You will see the specific sale tax applied to your order in your cart before checkout.

Starting in 2016 & 2017 some states have started taxing digital products, like our classes, and we are required by law to charge sales tax in the following states:

  • Indiana
  • North Carolina
  • Ohio
  • Washington
  • Colorado
  • Pennsylvania
  • Texas
  • Connecticut
  • Utah
  • Alabama

  • New Jersey
  • South Carolina
  • Tennessee
  • Wisconsin
  • Hawaii
  • Idaho
  • Louisiana
  • Maine
  • Nebraska

Please keep in mind that more states may be added over time, and we are not able to waive this tax under any circumstance as we are obligated by law to collect all taxes and fees at the state and local level.
